UN representative in Iraq has called to save Turkmen community that was threatened by Jihadists from the Islamic State.

According to information at Nikolay Mladenov's disposal, the town of Amerli where Turkmen community is living has been surrounded by Sunni militants. The people have neither drinking water, nor food, BBC Russian service reported.

He called on the allies of Iraqi government to help the people who are suffering and to prevent massacres.
