U.S. President Barack Obama will host President Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine at the White House on Thursday, September 18

The visit will highlight the United States’ firm commitment to stand with Ukraine as it pursues democracy, independence, and stability, the White Hosue said in a statement.

The sides will discuss efforts to pursue a diplomatic resolution to the crisis in eastern Ukraine as well as U.S. continued support for Ukraine’s struggle to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Speaking on Thursday, Obama said Russia was responsible for escalation in Ukraine, but U.S. Does not plan any military actions to solve Ukrainian problem.
