By the end of Decemeber, Russia will adopt a reviewed military doctrine in connection with new threats, Russian Security Council deputy secretary said.

Mikhail Popov explained the need for reviewing doctrine first of all by external factors, such as NATO enlargement, the issue of anti-missile defense as well as situation over Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported.

In addition, NATO and U.S. are obviously enhansing their offencive capabilities, he added.

The acting military doctrine was adopted by Russia in 2010.
