The detention of Russian-Armenian businessman and benefactor Levon Hayrapetyan, who is in confinement in Moscow, has been extended.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the press service of the Union of Armenians of Russia that the Moscow Municipal Court on Friday granted the investigator’s motion to keep Hayrapetyan in custody until December 15.  

To note, charges of fraud also were brought against the Armenian benefactor during the court hearing.

Levon Hayrapetyan, 65, was detained in a Moscow airport on July 15 and subsequently arrested. On July 24, the Russian Federation Investigation Committee brought two criminal charges against him: embezzlement or misuse, and money laundering. To note, even though Hayrapetyan has health problems, he is still kept in prison.
