The European Court of Human Rights demanded that Azerbaijan should provide explanations in connection with the delay of the return of Armenian captive's body.

Earlier the European Court receieved a petition requesting to facilitate the return of the body of Karen Petrosyan, who was killed in Azerbaijani captivity in August. The petition was sent by a working group representing the interests of Petrosyan's family, “Against Legal Arbitrariness” NGO reported.

NGO head Larisa Alaverdyan said return of the body without any preconditions is in compliance with the requirements of the international law.

“Illegal delay further increases the suffering of the family of any innocent citizen,” she said.
