YEREVAN. – Today’s judicial system in Armenia is de jure independent, but de facto, it is dependent on the authorities and the opposition; and there is only one option to solve this problem: Constitutional amendments.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly Faction member Sukias Avetisyan stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Thursday.

“It is solely owing to Constitutional reforms that we [Armenia] will have an independent judicial system. Today, however, it is de facto dependent on us all; each of has his part of the fault.

“But thanks to the Constitutional amendments, we will have a truly exemplary [judicial] system, a correct system when no political force will ever say that the judge was bribed,” Avetisyan noted.

The concept for the Constitutional reforms will be introduced to the President and the body politic of Armenia in the latter half of October.
