YEREVAN. – The Eurasian Supreme Council has decided to submit for signing the document on Armenia's joining the treaty on formation of the Eurasian Economic Union, and it will be signed soon, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said during the fifth Armenia-Diaspora forum.

Minister Nalbandian noted that the joint statement signed by Armenia and EU during the Vilnius summit last year reconfirmed sides' commitment to develop and strengthen cooperation in all possible areas of mutual interest, and Armenia continues work in this direction.

Speaking about Armenia's foreign policy priorities, he recalled that last year Armenia presided over the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, which further increased the image of our country in the international arena and once again stressed the readiness of our diplomatic system to take on and successfully carry out the mission of international significance.

“Armenia is making consistent efforts to strengthen its strategic relations with Russia, to develop their friendly partnership with the United States to further strengthen relations with its neighbors - Iran and Georgia. Armenia's approach to normalization with Turkey without preconditions enjoys the support of the international community. In the framework of the Collective Security Treaty, which is an important component of Armenia's security, we continued to take initiatives aimed at further strengthening of the structure. We are consistently developing cooperation with NATO,” Nalbandian said.
