Armenia has already prepared its Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU) accession roadmap, stated Russian Federation (RF) Economic Development Ministry official Anna Sysoeva, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

In her words, Armenia may become an EaEU member on January 2, 2015.

“An agreement is prepared on the joining. And if everything takes place and does not fall short, we assume that such an agreement will be signed on October 10 in Minsk [the Belarusian capital city], which would mean for Armenia becoming an EaEU member as of January 2, 2015,” Sysoeva noted, in particular.

In September 2013, Armenia had announced its intention to join the Customs Union and participate in the formation of the EaEU.

Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan had signed a treaty, on May 29 in the Kazakh capital city of Astana, regarding the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union. This agreement will enter into force on January 1, 2015.
