YEREVAN. – Parliament's non-government forces promised the protesters that the decision, according to which officials will not carry out inspections in medium-sized and small business entities in coming three months will be made on Thursday.

Mikael Melkumyan, MP from Prosperous Armenia, said they had registered registered some progress during the meeting with ministers.

“We were promised that the decision will be made either by PM, or by finance minister. We insisted on government's decision to cancel inspections of the medium-sized and small businesses till December 31,” he told protesters standing near parliament's building.

Earlier on Wednesday the Armenian National Assembly parliamentary groups met with the government members to discuss new law on turnover tax amid protest actions near parliament’s building and a strike in the city of Gyumri.

The “parliamentary four” proposes a new bill for the Law on Turnover Tax. This draft law will enable Armenia’s merchants to choose between either working with the old law, giving a 3.5 percent turnover tax, and refraining from documentation, or working with the new law, giving a one percent turnover tax, but carrying out documentation.
