Those who do not work and do not want to become employed will be brought to account in Belarus, reported TASS news agency of Russia.

According to the source, this matter was raised at a consultation with President Alexander Lukashenko.

The president demanded to make the jobless people work and put an end to the free distribution of the state funds.

“Take steps, by no later than January 1, so that everyone works; make everyone work!

“It’s time to stop this [state-]backing,” Lukashenko specifically noted.

In turn, the Belarus finance minister informed that an idleness tax will be set in the country. It is believed that this tax will amount to 2.6 million Belarusian rubles (approx. $280), per year.
