Russian and Belarusian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko had a telephonic conversation, during which they conferred on the present-day trade and economic cooperation matters within the framework of the Customs Union.

TASS news agency of Russia reported the above-said citing the Kremlin press service.

Putin, for his part, noted that the integration processes within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries have achieved a new degree of development.

“The Eurasian integration process is passing to a new level, albeit we still have much to do so that the EaEU [i.e., the Eurasian Economic Union] being created works in full force, so that the citizens of our countries may sense a real benefit from the efforts we have undertaken,” the Russian president stated.

To note, Armenia signed, on October 10 in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk, the treaty on accession to the Eurasian Economic Union.
