YEREVAN. – Assistance to border villages should not turn into a loom to avoid paying VAT, MP Hakob Hakobyan said.

The government offers to exempt business in border villages from VAT, but the MP fears that some businessmen can use this as an option to make their deals through border villages in order not to pay the taxes.

“The government's goal is really good, but the preferences must be targeted,” he said.

Earlier the Armenian government decided to exempt from taxes economic entities in Armenia's border villages.
