YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday had a farewell meeting with French Ambassador Henri Reynaud, who is ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

The President thanked the ambassador for the work during his four-year tenure in Armenia, and his personal contribution to the strengthening of Armenian-French relations. Sargsyan stressed that Armenia has highly appreciated Reynaud’s professional activity. He also expressed he hope that the next French ambassador to Armenia will continue this high mission with the same devotion and energy as Ambassador Reynaud, and that the latter will remain a good friend of Armenia.

The French diplomat, for his part, stated that he has done everything possible, over the past four years, to further strengthen and develop Armenian-French relations. He added that he worked in Armenia with the greatest pleasure and that he is leaving the country with a conviction that his diplomatic mission in Armenia was a success.

Subsequently, the interlocutors reflected on the Armenian, French, and Azerbaijani presidents’ forthcoming meeting, which is scheduled to be held in Paris and at the initiative of the President of France, and the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
