YEREVAN. – Germany hopes that Turkey will think about Armenian issue in the next few years, Ambassador Reiner Morell said.
The diplomat said they want commemorate the victims of the First World War by a series of small events.
“By means of these events we want to look to the future and show that there is possibility to overcome the long-standing hatred,” he said.
The First World War in Europe is over, but this required major efforts, as there was strong resistance.
“Of course, it is necessary to apologize, to find the way for reconciliation. We must note that there is certain movement in Turkish society. So, we can say there is hope for progress,” he added.
