YEREVAN. – Armenia will adopt new sanitary and hygienic requirements for food and nutritional supplements.  

The respective package was adopted at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

As per Minister of Agriculture, Sergo Karapetyan, work will be carried out to standardize the normative-legal documents on the quality control of herbal products, and to conduct a phytosanitary control for the imports from third countries.

A list will be compiled for the processing of the banned plants and food that are subject to quarantine control.   

In addition, new measures will be introduced to control the conditions of the livestock, bottled and mineral water, and nutritional supplements.
