YEREVAN. – Draft amendments to the law on allowances will be submitted to Armenian parliament's standing committee on social affairs in 2-3 days, Labor Minister Artem Asatryan told reporters on Friday.

He said the move was preceded by public debates that attracted the interested parties. The Minister did not share the view that PM wants to shift responsibility for a bill on Asatryan, taking into account the fact that the draft bill was perceived negatively by working women.

“With your help we hope to present to public in-depth information about the bill,” Asatryan said addressing reporters.

About a hundred young working parents assembled outside the Government of Armenia Building last week demanding the recall of the law amendments, pursuant to which the prenatal and postnatal benefits being paid to working mothers will be reduced in Armenia.
