YEREVAN. – Belgium’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Alex van Meuwen—whose diplomatic residence is in Moscow—, on Friday presented a copy of his credentials to Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Congratulating the ambassador on his appointment, Nalbandian expressed the hope that the diplomat will make an important contribution to the further development of Armenia-Belgium friendly relations.

Ambassador Van Meuwen, for his part, assured that he will spare no effort to further expand cooperation between the two countries.

Subsequently, the Armenian FM and the new Belgian ambassador discussed several matters concerning the bilateral agenda.

At the request of the diplomat, Edward Nalbandian also briefed Alex van Meuwen on the efforts by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, to achieve a pacific settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
