YEREVAN. – Slovenia’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Nataša Prah, whose diplomatic residence is in the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv, on Friday presented her credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President congratulated the ambassador on her appointment and wished her success. Sargsyan expressed the hope that the newly appointed diplomat will contribute to the further strengthening of Armenian-Slovenian relations. He also noted that the bilateral interstate relations are developing with success.

President Sargsyan and Ambassador Prah underscored the frequent mutual visits, and the close cooperation in the interparliamentary format and within international organizations between the two countries.

The Slovenian diplomat noted that her country’s newly elected parliament will propose to the Slovenian authorities to set up a parliamentary friendship group with Armenia.

At the ambassador's request, Serzh Sargsyan presented his assessments on the regional situation, and the latest developments on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and the Armenian side’s respective positions.

The ambassador of Slovenia, for her part, stated that her country appreciates Armenia’s efforts to achieve a pacific solution to the Karabakh conflict, and supports the relevant efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group.
