YEREVAN. – Poland adheres to the position of not selling weapons to the parties of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The Polish Ambassador to Armenia, Zdzisław Raczyński, stated the abovementioned at Monday’s press conference devoted to the end of his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

In response to a query on the founding of an Armenian-Polish enterprise, the diplomat noted that this joint venture will manufacture products intended for personal defense.

He added that any tension on the Line of Contact and aggressive rhetoric hamper the establishment of stability and the settlement of the conflict.

“Armenia and Azerbaijan are ‘doomed’ to peace. They are neighbors, and they can’t change the geography [of theirs],” Raczyński stressed.

“I don’t think Armenia is interested in a change in the [OSCE Minsk Group] format. [But] we should not follow extremism and overestimate the capabilities of the [Minsk Group] co-chairs. The parties themselves must be willing to achieve a result,” he added.

As per the conflicting parties’ equal treatment in the statements by the mediators, the Polish ambassador concluded: “A political assessment must be measured.”
