YEREVAN. – Economic risks and first positive results of Armenia's membership to the Eurasian Economic Union will become clear only one year after the accession, MP from Republican party Sukias Avetisyan said.

“First of all, the economy will develop faster. Of course, Belarus and Kazakhstan have the goods that we are producing, but in case of Russia we will have additional opportunities. Secondly, Russia has the largest Armenian community, and the largest remittances are received from this country. And, thirdly, we will solve the problem of security,” he said.

Avetisyan assured that he studied the text of the treaty on Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Union and there is no point indicating “a customs checkpoint should be set up on the border between Armenia and NKR”.

The MP recalled that Constitutional Court has submitted the treaty to the parliament, and the lawmakers will start debates in the near future.
