YEREVAN. – British Petroleum is a large investor in Azerbaijan's economy, and our country is not interested in confrontation in Nagorno-Karabakh, UK Ambassador Katherine Leach said.
The UK has economic interests in Azerbaijan, she admitted, therefore her country is not interested in escalation.
“We know that it is not in the interests of anyone,” she said during her meeting with the students of the American University of Armenia.
The Ambassador recalled that the main goal of UK Minister of State for Europe David Lidington's recent visit was to convey a message to Armenia and Azerbaijan after recent escalation in August that there is no alternative to peaceful settlement of the conflict.
