YEREVAN. – U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern believes Russia knows what to do to end western sanctions.
“Sanctions are not directed against Armenia. Understand economies are inter-related, ” he tweeted.
Asked about impact of western sanctions on Armenia, he emphasized that one more reason for partnership with West is to diversify economy and to create options.
The Ambassador was also asked about the influence of Vienna talks on Iranian nuclear program on U.S. relations with Armenia. The diplomat stressed that Iran must honor international commitments, and the deal would be good for everyone.
Commenting on western sanctions, UK Ambassador to Armenia Katherine Leach for her part noted that fall in rouble will impact on migrant workers.
“In general bad for all when barriers are put up rather than taken down,” UK Ambassador added.
