YEREVAN. – Armenia is the only country in Eurasian Economic Union that managed to get preferences for 752 goods, MP Gagik Minasyan told reporters.
“The customs duty is 8.9 percent in the Customs Union, while in Armenia it is only 2.3 percent. This means the price of imported goods would be 5 percent higher on average. But thanks to our work, we achieved considerable results. No other states have preferences for the mentioned list of goods,” he said.
Asked about negative side of the Eurasian Union, Gagik Minasyan, MP from the Republican Party of Armenia, answered evasively speaking only about customs duties.
“In any event Kazakhstan and Belarus repeatedly stated they would leave the union if it has negative sides. You need to file an application and you will be no longer a member in 12 months,” the MP added.
