YEREVAN. – Armenia may become a place for money laundering within the Eurasian Union, secretary of Heritage faction Tevan Poghosyan.

The amount of investment from Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia, said Pogosyan, can be relatively large, but they have one problem: the amounts that are formed in these countries “are not very clean”.

“The only option to bring counterbalance in this dangerous situation is to deepen cooperation with EU. However, the Union finds it difficult to say something until procedure of Armenia's participation in the Eurasian Union becomes clear on the ground,” Poghosyan said during a meeting of parliament's standing committee on economy.

Poghosyan added that the three states – members of the Eurasian Union – proved they are guided exclusively by their own interests.
