YEREVAN. – Armenian parliament's standing committee on foreign affairs did not consider the draft treaty on Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Union.

Although Deputy Finance Minister Suren Karayan was invited to the meeting, the deputies preferred debates to the official's report.

Opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan said listening to the report does not make sense, since the relevant parliamentary committee is that on economic affairs where the draft treaty was reviewed and approved. In turn, chairman of the committee Artak Zakaryan said that they have a mandate to express opinion on any international treaty, even an economic one.

Finally, the deputies agreed to submit a report to a plenary session after the main rapporteur from the government.
