Turkey’s political circles have not responded yet to Hillary Clinton’s statement made in Yerevan, namely, that the ball is in Turkey’s court in the Armenian-Turkish relations, Aris Nalci, Editor of the bilingual Armenian-Turkish Agos newspaper told NEWS.am.
No official response has been reported, he said. Nalci pointed out comments are likely to appear tonight.
Aris Nalci shares Clinton’s opinion that the ball is in Turkey’s court. Armenia has made all the necessary moves and is presently waiting for Turkey’s response.
According to him, Hillary Clinton’s statement is a kind of pressure on Turkey. However, Turkey is more concerned over other issues, particularly the aggravation of relations with Israel rather than Armenian-Turkish relations. The Agos editor thinks may be the reason why no official response to Clinton’s statement has so far been reported.
