YEREVAN. – The Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, is convinced that the join foundation of the Yerevan State and the Yerevan State Medical Universities will be issued a legal status by no later than December 25 and, as a result, the young lecturers will get the chance to write petitions for waiver from making the mandatory social payments.

During the minister’s year-ending remarks on Saturday, the news reporters also noted that only five days are left until December 25, and asked what these lecturers need to do.

“I propose to wait for fall to ‘count the chickens.’ We will have registered foundations before the designated date and we will have solutions for those lecturers.

“I want to especially stress that we did not turn these institutions of higher education into a foundation for the mandatory social payment; this program was started to be implemented since back in 2011,” Ashotyan said.

The young university lecturers complain that the foundation is not yet legally registered, and therefore their aforesaid petitions are not accepted.
