The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Collective Security Council meeting got underway Tuesday in the Russian capital city of Moscow.
Before the start of the event however, Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed his colleagues from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.
Several documents are planned to be signed within the framework of the summit, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov told reporters.
He added that, among other matters, the statement by the heads of the CSTO member states also will stress the need for a pacific settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
