STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh) President Bako Sahakyan on Wednesday convened a meeting of the NKR Security Council.

The organization of combat duty and the improvement of engineering structures, and the process and results of the Telethon 2014 and the programs to be implemented within this framework were on the agenda of the consultation, informed the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.

Defense Minister Movses Hakobyan delivered a report on the first agenda issue. The President gave respective instructions to the Ministry of Defense and the Cabinet of Ministers for the proper implementation of the stipulated programs in the domain of army building. He also stressed that ensuring a high level of combat-readiness of Artsakh’s armed forces has always been among the most important tasks of the state.

Touching upon the second matter on the agenda, Sahakyan commissioned the Cabinet of Ministers and corresponding organizations to ensure a targeted use of the funds that were allocated for the construction of the Vardenis-Martakert Highway, close cooperation between the relevant bodies, and broad media coverage of the activities that were carried out.
