YEREVAN. – In terms of NATO, there is no contradiction between Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, its membership to CSTO and cooperation with the Alliance, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for South Caucasus James Appathurai told reporters in Yerevan.

Speaking about his meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Appathurai said he thanked the President for his participation in Wales Summit.

“This symbolizes strong and stable cooperation. We, on our part, show that we respect Armenia’s balanced foreign policy,” he said.

The fact that Armenia is a member of the Eurasian Union and CSTO is not an obstacle to further development of relations between Armenia and NATO.
