YEREVAN. – Official launch of European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) in Armenia took place in Yerevan on Friday.

The ceremony was attended by Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan, head of EU delegation Traian Hriste, adviser to Austrian Development Agency Gunther Zimmer, ambassadors of the EU member states, representatives from the Armenian government, UN office and other agencies were present.

“Armenia continues strengthening and enhancing relations with the EU in all directions. It is especially visible in our sector where many joint projects had been implemented over the recent years,” Karapetyan said.

In turn, head of EU delegation Traian Hristea said EU will continue providing assistance to Armenia for successful overcoming of existing problems.

The project was funded by the EU and Republic of Austria in order to support agriculture and rural development in Armenia.

Armenia will get €25 million as a support to agriculture and rural development.
