YEREVAN. – No movement in Armenia-Turkey relations was registered last year because of Ankara's destructive position, says the annual report published by Armenian Foreign Ministry.

During the year, the international community, in different occasions, reaffirmed its support for the principled position of Armenia regarding the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations without preconditions.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian o attended the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogann August 28. During the reception, Nalbandian had a brief conversation with the President of Turkey and handed over an official invitation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to visit Yerevan on April 24 to commemorate victims of the Armenian Genocide.

At the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in September, President Serzh Sargsyan said that while Armenia does not consider recognition of Armenian Genocide as a precondition to establishing diplomatic relations with this country, but given Turkey's preconditions for the establishment of relations, as well as taking int account tightening of genocide denial policy, official Yerevan is seriously discussing withdrawal of Armenian-Turkish protocols from the parliament.
