Even if the European Court of Human Rights consider the case for one thousand years, they will not find in Dogu Perincek's statements a hint of racism and discrimination, lawyer Mehmet Cengiz said in Strasbourg during a hearing in the case of Perinçek v. Switzerland.

“Perincek is against racism, xenophobia and intolerance! He can't be accused of racism,” the lawyer said.

The lawyer claimed that the applicant had not denied the tragic events of 1915, he had simply said that they do not constitute a genocide.

“He [Perincek] has spent years in prison for his ideas, his speeches advocate peace,” Cengiz emphasized.

The lawyer mentioned that Perincek had been fighting against discrimination and got awards from Europe, OdaTV reported.
