The Presidents of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), Serzh Sargsyan and Bako Sahakyan, accompanied by members of the State Committee Coordinating the Events Dedicated to the 100th Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, on Thursday visited the State Pantheon after Komitas, in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, and attended the official opening of the museum of this great Armenian composer.

Signing the book of the guests of honor of this museum, President Sahakyan noted that the opening of the Komitas Museum is a significant event for all Armenians, informed the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.

“We are speaking about a person who presented our nation’s horrible tragedy with his immortal music; a person who lived by his people’s fate and burned out for the sake of the future generation, with the hope and faith in the triumph of justice. And our present generation shall live and work to develop and strengthen the Motherland, [and] to further cement the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity” the NKR President wrote.

And the Press Office of the President of Armenia informed that President Sargsyan, for his part, congratulated everyone on the opening of this museum-institute.

After touring the museum and its exhibits, the Armenia President also signed the book of the guests of honor of this museum.

“The Komitas Museum-Institute is the symbol of the unity and revival of the Armenian people. Master Komitas (…) became the pioneer and guarantor of the new course of the Armenian people who survived genocide.

“(…) The opening of the Komitas Museum-Institute is a milestone for our country and our people,” President Sargsyan specifically wrote.
