YEREVAN. – The ruling party has never opposed cooperation with opposition groups, speaker of the Armenian parliament Galust Sahakyan said.

He recalled that back in 2013 the ruling party offered the opposition to head an independent structure – Raffi Hovannisian was offered to head the commission on drafting constitutional reforms.

“The opposition, certainly, has a goal of getting more leverage to press ahead their plans. But, they must work to tackle the problems, must be a part of the process,” Sahakyan explained.

Speaker said adoption of amendments to a turnover tax is an example of successful cooperation between the opposition and the ruling party.
