An Armenian died and two others were wounded Thursday in Aleppo, Syria, as a result of shelling by armed militants.

Hagop Kaprielian, 51, lost his life, whereas Shogher Arslanian and Sossi Stamboulian-Ohanian were wounded, reported the Kantsasar Armenian newspaper of Syria.

To note, two Armenians were killed and another five were wounded on February 21, due to the shelling of several Aleppo districts.

Around 60 to 70 thousand Armenians lived in Syria before the start of the civil war in the country, and more than half of them resided in Aleppo.
