YEREVAN. – The Armenian capital city Yerevan Municipality is holding talks with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and with regard to designing an electric public transportation development program for the city.

Yerevan First Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan told about the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am. In his words, however, the respective discussions are still in the earliest phase.

“For that reason, now I can’t even say what extent [of work] we can speak about,” Areyan added.

According to the data by the municipality’s “Electrotransport” Closed Joint-Stock Company, about 60 percent of the city’s trolleybuses, 70 percent of the respective network communication, and 90 percent of the stations and cables are in terrible condition.
