YEREVAN. – The former presidents of Armenia will receive a pension in the amount of 70 percent of the salary of the president in office.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Artem Asatryan, informed the aforementioned at the parliament on Tuesday, as he introduced the respective bill.

To note, the salary of the President of Armenia is set as twenty-fold of a civil servant’s base monthly salary, which is currently 66,000 drams (approx. $137). Accordingly, the incumbent president’s monthly salary is 1,320,000 drams (approx. $2,740), and therefore the ex-presidents’ monthly pension will be in the amount of 924,000 drams (approx. $1,917).
