YEREVAN. – Poland hopes that Armenia and European Union will manage to reach agreement on a new format of cooperation between the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga, Poland's Ambassador Jerzy Nowakowski told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“I am hopeful that at the upcoming Eastern Partnership summit in Riga it will be possible to develop a new program of cooperation between Armenia and the European Union. We believe that Armenia is a part of European civilization and must be as close to Europe as possible. Therefore, Poland is interested in the fact that Armenia has maintained a pro-European course, and we on our part will do everything so that Armenia could preserve this position after joining the Eurasian Economic Union,” he said.

The Ambassador believes that Eastern Partnership summit in Riga will have nothing to do with Eurasian Economic Union. There is no need to compare these blocs, since they are different systems, he added.

Eastern Partnership summit will be held on May 21-22 in Riga, capital city of Latvia that is presiding over European Union.
