YEREVAN. – Armenia residents failed to watch solar eclipse on Friday because of rainy weather. In clear weather partial eclipse could be watched, the moon would have closed the solar disk by 25%.

To observe the eclipse in Armenia you had to have a dark glass, but rain and cloudy weather prevented the residents of Armenia from watching this colorful event, head of the Armenian Astronomical Association Areg Mikaelyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Today's solar eclipse could be observed in the North Atlantic, then it swept up into the Arctic, ending at the North Pole.
