British Conservative Party MP Sajjad Karim, who is also a Member of the European Parliament (MEP), has not offered territorial solutions with respect to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Co-Chairman, Armenian National Assembly member Samvel Farmanyan told the aforesaid to reporters on Friday.

As per Farmanyan, Karim’s words—which he made at Friday’s 15th meeting of this committee, which was held in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan—were misunderstood.

Accordingly, the British MEP had not personally made a proposal, but solely cited the Turkish government’s position, and asked to resubmit the viewpoint of Armenia’s leadership.

In this connection, Karim noted that he has never had a direct role in the matters pertaining to the conflicts in the South Caucasus.

“Armenia is the first country in the region that I have ever visited, and I’m leaving your country with good impressions,” the UK MP added.
