YEREVAN. – Turkmenistan’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Muhammad Niaz Mashalov, on Monday presented a copy of his credentials to Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Congratulating the ambassador on his appointment, Nalbandian wished him success in his diplomatic mission, and expressed the hope that the ambassador will contribute to the further strengthening of the Armenian-Turkmen friendly relations, the Armenia MFA press service informed.

Ambassador Mashalov, for his part, noted that Turkmenistan underscores the enhancement of cooperation with Armenia, and assured that his efforts will aim to deepen bilateral relations.

The interlocutors stressed that the mutual visits by the presidents of the two countries have given new impetus to these relations, and in this context, they discussed the course of implementing the agreements which the two leaders had reached.

Nalbandian and Mashalov also reflected on interparliamentary cooperation, the holding of consultations between the MFAs of Armenia and Turkmenistan, and collaboration in several domains.
