YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, issued messages of condolence to President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore.

Sargsyan extended his condolences in connection with the death of Lee Kuan Yew, the first Prime Minister of Singapore.

Lee Kuan Yew passed away on Monday at the age of 91.

He headed the Government of Singapore from 1959 to 1990. Under Lee Kuan Yew’s leadership, Singapore transformed from a backward country into a financial center of the world.
