There is no need to think that  Kazakhstan, as a Turkic-speaking country, does not want to see Armenia in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

Rashid Akimov, a member of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Our state cooperates with Armenia in the bilateral format, and now this cooperation will move on to the Eurasian Union format,” Akimov stated.

The MP noted that Kazakhstan has always favored sound integration processes, and recalled that the idea of Eurasian cooperation belongs to President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan.

“Perhaps there are technical issues; this is not a one-day issue. This, however, is not at all a reason for Kazakhstan to obstruct any country’s accession [to the EEU]. At the Armenian government’s wishes, appropriate solutions will be found,” the Kazakh senator stated. “The EEU opens an opportunity for new markets.”
