President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is on state visit to China, on Friday was hosted by the Peking University (PKU), where he first met with the university administration.

The interlocutors reflected on the avenues for the development of Armenian-Chinese friendship and cooperation.

In addition, Sargsyan signed the university guestbook.

Next, the Armenian President met with the PKU students and faculty. At the meeting, Sargsyan was also awarded the title of Honorary Professor at Peking University.

In his address, Serzh Sargsyan presented Armenia’s foreign policy priorities and challenges. He also reflected on the Armenian-Chinese relations and their prospects, and informed about the results of his state visit to China.

The President stressed that Armenia-China relations are developing in a dynamic fashion, and assured that the two countries will always remain partners that assist and support one another. Sargsyan added that Armenia is open to building and strengthening relations with all countries.

The Armenian President also spoke about the issues and challenges of the South Caucasus, the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, Armenia-Turkey relations, and the message of the Armenian Genocide centenary being marked this year and the respective commemorations to be held.

On the same day, President Serzh Sargsyan traveled from Beijing to Sanya, China, to participate in, and address at, the annual Boao Forum for Asia.
