European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) released three judgments against Armenia on March 31.

The first judgment found that the rights of Mr Asrtashes Davtyan were violated under Article 3 (prohibition of inhuman or degrading treatment) of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Mr Davtyan principally filed a complaint about inadequate medical care in detention over a prolonged period of time. The Government will have to pay Davtyan EUR 9,060 in total.

The second case concerns the complaint filed by Helsinki Committee of Armenia. The Committee appealed the Mayor’s decision to ban a peaceful march.

The last judgment was taken with regard to Bagrat, Narine and Arevik Nalbandyan. The Court found that the applicants’ right to a fair trial was violated. According to the judgment, the Government will have to pay the Nalbandyans EUR 10,000., 27,000 and 25,000 respectively.
