In connection with the postings of videos on the social networking sites, and with respect to the holding of hostage—and subsequent killing—of a prosecutor in the country recently, a Turkish court ordered to temporarily block Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube in Turkey.

Even though the court had put a ban on the postings of a photograph showing the prosecutor taken hostage by the DHKP/C (Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party–Front) militants, this photo was still posted in networking sites, and this had forced the court to make a ruling on blocking access to these sites, and until these photos were removed from the websites, reported Milliyet daily of Turkey.

Once these photos were removed, access to the aforesaid popular social networking sites was restored in Turkey.
