We can confidently say that in 2016 Armenia will receive Pope Francis, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan stated in the interview with the largest Italian radio television company Rai, responding to the questions of the famous CIS observer Marc Innaro.
“I’m sure we’ll receive Pope Francis next year. During our last meeting he told me he would carry out that visit by the call of his heart,” the President said.
Currently, Armenia’s President is on an official trip to Italy. Today he took part in the dedication of cross-stone in the Monastery of San Gregoro Armeno, Naples. Pope Francis will serve liturgy in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide on April 12.
