YEREVAN. – Armenia's Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan on Tuesday received PACE President Anne Brasseur.

Welcoming the PACE head, Prime Minister expressed confidence that Mr. Brasseur's visit will give impetus to the development of bilateral ties.

PACE President noted Armenian delegation's active participation in the work of the Assembly, adding that this promotes expansion and deepening of diplomatic ties.

Armenian PM briefed PACE President on the position of the Armenian side on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict: the Armenian side believes the only possible way for a peaceful resolution is negotiations within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan continues actions on violation of the ceasefire, which does not help resolve the conflict and leaves the situation tense, PM added.

Anne Brasseur said escalation in the Karabakh conflict zone is unacceptable and emphasized that for the Assembly dialogue is the only way to resolve the Karabakh conflict.
