The Turkish ambassador’s complaint received a strict response from Denmark politicians, who urged Turkey to stay out of the freedom of expression and art in their country.

The Danish People’s Party’s Carl Christian Ebbesen said Turkey should stay out of local decisions, as reported by Armenian newspaper Agos published in Istanbul.  “Turkey should completely stay out of what we do in Copenhagen and what sort of freedoms of expression and freedoms of art that we have,” Ebbesen said.

Representatives of other political parties also joined Ebbesen’s statement.

The sculpture - made by Armenian sculptor Allen Sayegh and dedicated to the Armenian Genocide - will be displayed in Copenhagen’s Kultorvet Square for 10 consecutive days in May.

With this respect the Turkish ambassador to Denmark had expressed his complained to the local government.
